It's not the Blob

One striking facet of life here in Alexandria is the relationship between stray animals and humans.  And there is no shortage of either!

What I've noticed though is that the animals have no fear of humans. They do not perceive us as a threat.  I don't know if I've ever met stray animals that haven't been scared of us. These cats and dogs hardly even glance over their shoulder to acknowledge your presence.  Nor are they interested in being petted, and nor does there seem to be anybody interested in petting them.

Just remember though if you ever think you see the piles of trash on the streets moving, it's not the Blob come to get you.  It's just meal time for your furry neighbors.

Awesome salami bacon. You sound like you are having an adventure of a lifetime. I bet you are super "alive" right now. Let that soul shine bro. Keep up the blog....It is fun to read. Egypt sounds like it is very chaotic, but somehow still works. Don't tell anybody, but you still brew the best cafe refreshments! MJ's can send you a care package, if you need anything, so let us know.
    Peace,

What a beautiful post, man! Thank you.

Well, I gotta break the news to you, there's not a lot of salami or bacon here, but there is a lot of awesome! Actually, I think KFC and McD's carry like turkey bacon or something.

I am pretty alive here, but I'm still learning how to flap my wings and expand my environment. i can stay in the air a little longer now, and the accidental dive bombs aren't nearly as consequential or large.

Alexandria is chaotic. The people here say that it all runs by blessings [from God]. In my opinion this in no way negates the need for a better system, but they are correct, as I far as I can tell, in saying that. You basically have to be on your toes at all times, or you're going to get hit by a car, or a tram, or a donkey.

The culture is also pretty new to me and at times intimidating. I've basically decided to chunk that idea out the window though. I know that behind all the craziness, moustaches and stubble, hookah and cigarette smoke, international relations between states, etc., there is a smile, a warm welcome, curiosity, and hot tea on the way. At least 99% of the time, and let's not talk about the other 1% right now!

Peace and good to hear from you. Let's not let this be the last.
    your brother,
    Mason
